Description
High altitude (80km up) Ice clouds
The rare and beautiful Noctilucent clouds are back and they put on a beautiful display last night from 10:30pm-11:30pm and again this morning from 3:00am-4:00am
Typically only visible in July as the mesosphere is at its coldest when down here on earth we are starting to see summer temperatures.
When the sun is between 6-16º below the horizon these high altitude clouds are illuminated by the sun.
They're very hit and miss for seeing them, However when they're out it's easy to see them, They appear to be an electric blue colour.
